Do you think that doctors blame sleep problems on sleep apnea?
Because they don’t know the real reason why you can’t sleep. Or is it a big money maker somehow?
And yes I do know I snore. I was told that I do.
I am in no way saying there are no good ethical doctors. I know of many good ethical and caring doctors.
No I don’t believe I have this. I am just saying is that is medically a popular condition to test for. And sometimes when they don’t know the attribute the symptoms to apnea.

Sleep studies and UPPP’s are big business.
No and you could confirm it by sleeping at a sleep clinic. But that would cost money too. But then you could shout at your doctor.
Depends what your symptoms were, and if you were overweight, smoked etc.
How could you possibly know you had sleep apnea? You are asleep when you get symptoms, so most people don’t know, so don’t believe it. I bet you think you don’t snore either.
Quite frequently, yes. But whether you have sleep apnoea or not can be discovered by a sleep study using the somnograph and observation by the sleep specialist.. I would say that sleep apnoea is the only interest of doctors who say they treat sleep disorders as they have no idea on how to cure insomnia and can only medicate. That doesn’t work because you get addicted to sleep medication or accustomed to it so it becomes useless or dangerous. I have read all the books on insomnia and am at the point of screaming if anyone else talks or writes about "sleep hygiene" or cognitive behavioural therapy or relaxation or hypnosis. I know all about these and have tried them all. The truth is – and this is the part that doctors don’t know how to fix – there is some unknown imbalance in brain chemistry and/or it’s genetic.
And yes, there is big bucks to be made for drug companies selling medications that make you sleep at first then make you sick – so you try a different one and round it goes.
Edit
I might add that I am not saying doctors are not ethical, I have a super one who just says, I wish I could help you, and means that as he has tried. My daughter who is a doctor says that the GP’s worse nightmare (joke not intended) is a patient who comes in and says "I can’t sleep" and has no obvious symptoms to cause the insomnia. That’s because she cares about not being able to fix their problem.
I think there are many things that cause sleeping problems and it is not always very easy to diagnose.
My sleep problem is caused by nightmares and flashbacks from my PTSD so I get very little sleep at all. I am on about the 4 different type of medication for it now to try and help me get at least a bit of sleep. I think the mind is stronger than the meds which is why they don’t work very well.
use to when u went to a doctor he would help with what ever problem you had, now all they want to know is do u have insurance, they dont know what is wrong with you so they send u to a half a dozen different doctors hoping one of them knows and then they act like yeah we know whats wrong now. then bill ur insurance co. for a million dollars, its a joke anymore, all about money
They shouldn’t be … because sleep apnea is a diagnosable condition that can be treated.
You need to watch "Mystery Diagnosis" sometime. They have real stories with the actual people that went though them. There was a guy who was actually dying … he was having heart problems, etc. … and couldn’t go through the day without taking naps. And it was all because of sleep apnea. When they finally tested him it turned out as soon as he went into deep sleep he would actually stop breathing for a whole minute before he’d start again. And he’d do it over and over again. Since we get most of our oxygen during deep sleep, his body was really deprived of it.
I wish I could remember more of the episode … but anyway, they put him on a breathing machine at night, and his health immediately improved. If you think you have this have your doctor test you.
I think Dr’s blame a lot of things that arent …
