I am suffering from a sleeping pill addiction I will take 4-8 pills in one day at all different times It makes me eurphoric and I feel like I need to take one to calm down. has anyone ever had this type of problems with sleeping pills I take Ambien. Thanks for reading.

For over 2 years now I have been tired during the day no matter how much sleep I get. I am not depressed, diabetic, and it isn’t sleep apnea. I can’t find any other reasons for it

hopeless fore curing insomnia?




I’ve had insomnia for 5-6 years. It’s gotten worse and worse. Some nights I sleep for an hour. Some nights I never get into a deep sleep at all. Once in a while i’ll get a good 7 hours of sleep but thats pretty rare. I had a sleep study, but I actually fell asleep pretty fast that night (very rare) so I don’t think they saw how it usually is for me at night. I’ve been to so many doctors but they all proscribe the same meds that don’t work or give me a set of things to do to have better sleep hygiene (which I’ve tried several times and it never worked). It’s really effected my life. I’m in a bad mood a lot of the time and don’t have to many friends because I’d imagine I’m not the happiest person to be around. I also totaled my car from driving while exhausted and not paying full attention to the road. Can anything ever be done for me or will I just have to live with this?

Question for people who have problems sleeping?




People who have severe problems sleeping on a regular basis-do you find it best to just lay there and try to sleep or to just get up and do things?

I have a diagnosis of depression and go through periods where I either sleep to much or cant get to sleep or stay asleep for a long period.

Its 1.30am here in the UK and getting really frustrated by it. I’ve been out and about today etc so there’s no reason I shouldnt be sleepy so I’ve just got back up.

I am currently taking sleeping pills but I would like to stop. I gave a try to Valerian roots , it was working fine but I had stomach issues so I had to stop taking them. I exercise but nothing seems to help so far.

I was recently (as in today) prescribed Ambian CR, 12.5 mg dosage. I’m waiting until the weekend to actually take one since I’ve heard some weird stories about what it can do and I don’t want to risk it on a weeknight (before work) until I’m used to it. Have you taken Ambien? Would you recommend it? Did you have any side effects? If so, what?

I’ve gotten up to 60 pills a day. The only opiate detox symptom I don’t get is vomiting- instead I get ravenously hungry.

My other symptoms are as thus:

Goose bumps, anxiety, watery eyes and nose, yawning. did I mention anxiety? Irritabitlity, insomnia (BAD), and weirdly enough, extreme sexual arousal. I get a hoarse voice and lack of energy….

but anyways I went 8 days without (after the second day detox I almost died by OD’in on Valium and Benadryl- my mom called the ambulance and I spend the next three-four days in the psych ward. Anyways I’ve since gotten out. Was set out on Seroquel and Celexa.

I’ve learned that Ultram is also an antidepressant of sorts, and now I’m starting a new anti depressant. I’m still having trouble sleeping and such serious acute anxiety attacks. I left the psych ward after the state legal hold, but now regret that since I stil have drug cravings and thought of ending it all. I know it takes time for the anti depressants to kick in, and my supposed "outpatient rehab" starts tomorrow, but the day before yesterday I was so anxious I was willing to recheck myself into the pscyh ward. The social worker and doctor at the ER noted that the psych docs didn’t send me with an immediate anti anxolytic, so they suggested I take one at home until my rehab appt. rather than check into the pscyh floor again.

Today i had no relief from the anti-anxiety med, Klonopin, even taking it at 5 x the dose prescribed (one mg). I got crying and despondent and seriously considered suicide. Instead of doing so I went to a different ER and played up some hip pain (that got me hooked on opiates in the first place) and got Lortab and a Dilaudid shot then 30 more Lortab. My husband is pissed at me because I was without for so long, but I really thought it was that or suicide. I still have that group therapy and an appt with a psychologist tomorrow, so what should I do? Lie about the whole thing and pretend I’m still clean?

My husband is at his wits end with me, as I’m sure I would be too. I keep saying and believing I want to be clean and sober, but then if they knew how hard it was for me to be that way they would never ask it of me, right?

Anyways, this is just a rambler asking for advice….

Weird sleep disorder!?




I have a problem where I get so anxious about the next day and about the things that I will be doing to the point where my heart rate jumps and I cannot fall asleep for hours. It’s as if I’m extremely nervous about it.

It used to be only on the nights before I have a big soccer game, but now it’s almost every night. It’s gotten so bad these days that I barely had any sleep last night and couldn’t fall asleep the whole day today.

Is there a name for this disorder? In your best opinion, what should someone with this issue do?

I was just curious if there is a real relationship for a lot of people between how much exercise you get and how well you sleep. I know I have heard that exercise makes it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep, but I have been curious if that seems to be true.

So just say about how many hours of exercise you get, what types of exercise it is, how good your quality of sleep is, and how long it takes for you to fall asleep.

I’m flying to from Buffalo to Las Vegas via Cleveland, and will be taking my CPAP machine with me. I don’t want to check it in my luggage. Will this count as an additional carry-on item, or would it be free since it’s Medical Equipment? Would I need a letter from my Doctor?

So I’m 17 and, after examining the symptoms and a few long talks with my bipolar friend, I’m almost positive I have the disorder. I really feel like I need to get help, but can’t bring myself to talk to my family. Is there any way I can get treatment without letting them know?

and ya its 121 right now so i know ill wake up late tomorrow too. i just cant sleep, after like 8 i feel like doing something and not going to bed.I wont take sleeping pills so maybe i need weed..lol I dont know…but ya i just feel like doing something or talking to someone every night. Am i just a night person?

Baby's Bedtime Routine..?




Does anyone else use the Johnson&Johsnon bedtime bath and lotion and believe it does indeed help baby sleep better? I used it when my baby was first born and he was always a great sleeper. When I ran out of that stuff, i just bought some normal baby bath because I thought it was just a marketing ploy and a load of crock.
My baby is now 8 months old and wakes up at night – ALL THE TIME. he is easy to put back to sleep but it just seems to me that he is nevr getting into a good REM cycle because he wakes so often.
Anyway, last night, for no particular reason I decided to use the tiny bit of the Bedtime Bath that I had left in the bottle, and my baby slept 11 hours straight, in his own cot for the first time in months.
I think it may actually work!!!!
Anyone else think so?
