Is it possible to have a mild case of narcolepsy?

Is it possible to have a mild case of narcolepsy?
Also could someone not get it until they are 17? Just wondering. I noticed yesterday and today I just suddenly got really tired out of nowhere until I fell asleep (it took about 1 maybe 2 minutes for me to fall asleep) and then I woke up and felt perfectly fine and alert. I am going to try to keep track of it to see if it persists and if it does I may go see a doctor. Can it be controlled?

Is Insomnia a symptom of depression?

If I haven’t slept properly in over a month and the doctor prescibed me pills for insomnia. Will he then treat me for depression after the insomnia is under control. He thinks I may have depression, but he hasn’t done anything about that yet, will he once I’m able to sleep?

Can anyone recommend a brand of melatonin that works?

I had a car accident a few months ago and broke both legs. I’m normally a side sleeper and since the accident I’ve had to sleep on my back. My doctor prescribed a sleeping pill, however I would like to get off these. Melatonin has been recommended by a few people, however I’ve also been told that some brands just don’t work. Any recommendations on which brands are good or which ones to stay away from?

Each and every night i sleep at no earlier than 5 am, coz i can’t. (i wake up late so i sleep ok) I actually have a fear of sleeping i find hard to explain: everytime i try to sleep i keep thinking about what happens when my mind goes to rest, and i freak out. This problem caused a new one to form where i am afraid of not being able to sleep everytime i try, which leaves me lying around for long periods of time. Sometimes, i even have nightmares about seeing myself asleep, and knowing that I am dreaming, yet i am stuck in this dream and i cannot wake up. Eventually i do wake up (in my dream) then i fall back asleep uncontrollably so it feels like I’m trapped! Any ideas plz?

I took a Gernan class once, and I always fell asleep in that class. Now, when I want to fall asleep, I count in German. I usually don’t get past the number ‘treyzehn’

Is it safe to supplement with melatonin?

Lately I have had trouble staying asleep at night but no problem falling asleep. I already exercise daily and have tried everything from changing my diet(removing all caffeine and eating healthier) to eliminating all my stress. I don’t want to start taking those otc sleeping aides with all that crap in it that can develop dependability. Melatonin has been working great at giving me a full nights sleep and have seen no signs of dependability after i stopped using for a couple days. Is it safe to continue to use this?

I can usually fall asleep at night however sometimes I wake up 3 or 4 times a night. Nevertheless I’ve woken up tired every day for the past 5 weeks. I stoped taking OTC sedatives, but recently I heard that Perscription sleep aids really help you get a good nights sleep. Is this true.

Sleep Aid?

I haven’t been sleeping at all well lately so I tried Melatonin. That didn’t do much. My DR suggested I take Benedryl (Tylenol PM/Unisom/Any PM Product) at night and that doesn’t help either. I need some sleep. Can anyone recommend a OTC Sleep Aid?

What’s the name of this sleep disorder?

I know I read about this somewhere, but I need to know the name or where I can find out about it.
Apparently, a normal human takes about 30 minutes to begin dreaming, and according to the sleep disorder, the person will begin dreaming immediatly, within minutes.
Can anyone recall the name?

I purely breast feed, and my LO has started getting in a bad habit of needing my breast to fall asleep. How can i get her outta this habit? I know its my fault for letting her start this, I didn’t know it would get this bad. Now anytime I need her to nap, its like she needs the comfort of my breast just to fall asleep.

She will be hungry so i will feed her, she will eat for about 5 min. Then fall asleep.

If i feed her and wake her up when she is done eating, and try to get her to sleep by rocking her or some other way, she gets SOO mad. Then she gets so mad and upset I can’t get her calmed down any way but by putting her back on my breast.

She is 2 1/2 months old.
Well it’s not always going to be convienent for me to just whip out my breast to put her on just so i can get her to take a nap.

It’s exhausting and she needs to be able to fall asleep with some other remedy. I don’t mine getting her to fall asleep sometimes like that at night. But i can’t be doing that ALL day long with her. I would love for her to take a paci and be rocked to fall asleep. Not just have to be on my breast.
