What profession would study sleep disorders?




Would it be like neurologist, psychiatrist, or psychologist? Or something else…

I don’t think the way I worded the question is too great, but I mean I usually sleep 4 maybe 4 1/2 hours on a school night and during school I’m tired and maybe can’t concentrate for like 15 mins. When I sleep for 6 hours though, I can’t stay awake and usually fall asleep… Once I didn’t sleep at all and didn’t fall asleep in class but I did feel really wierd and light. On weekends I sleep for like 10 hrs+ and I just feel heavy and lazy when I wake up. I wake up at 7:00am and sleep around 3 or 2:30am. Sometimes my eyes hurt in the morning… like they sting and I usually have to close my eyes during my shower. I wear contacts, but I don’t sleep in them, if that has to do with anything. I know it isn’t good to not get enough sleep, but I just can’t sleep earlier. Why do I feel more tired when I sleep 6 hrs instead of 4 hrs? How many hours of sleep should I have? I’m 13 and female.
I am aware I should get more sleep (thanks for the tips though). What I want to know is how come when I sleep 4 hours I’m not nearly as tired as I am when I sleep 6 hours?

Also: No, I am not partying.

Also: The sleep apnea thing freaked me out, but I don’t think I have it because when I sleep enough I am not tired.

I have Sleep Apnea and need to adjust the air pressure on the machine. I have lost my insurance and can not afford to have it professionally adjusted. If you know how please answer this question. Thanks!

insomnia cures help.?




i have insomnia. its not that bad yet, but i bet by time i get some answers on here, it will be time. ive tried laying down with some soothing music and closing my eyes i didnt help. i have a big test tomorrow and if i cant get even 1 hour of sleep i will be pissed

I have on set insomnia meaning that i would have trouble falling asleep sometimes it lasts for hours even when am sooo sleepy, when i am in bed i can;t fall asleep. but i do sleep alot and i have trouble waking up and would sometimes wake up restless.
I also can’t concentrate at all, I can’t play a mind game that lasts for exactly one minute with concentration.
it has been like that for a week.
never drank or smoked or did drugs and don’t even get caffine.

My son is not even 8 months old and is already wearing 18-month clothes. He has outgrown those sleep sacks that are like wearable blankets. He thrashes around in his sleep (rolls over, crawls into the corners of the crib, etc), so he won’t stay tucked in under a blanket — what did you do with your kids to keep them warm at night after they couldn’t fit in the sleep sacks anymore? Thanks!

I believe I have sleep apnea, but because I am currently in a residential treatment program, I am unable to go to an overnight sleep study.
Is there an alternative method with which I can be tested for sleep apnea?

How many of u out there cant sleep and having a hard time falling a sleeping?

im 16 and i cant fall asleep. i can sometimes fall asleep but i keep waking up every like 10mins why

I’m a teenager, and usually I can’t get to sleep until 2 or later.
So I usually get 2-4.5 hours of sleep.
My friend who has it says I probably have it, and she says to take medication to sleep.
I don’t want to get medication( addicted to things VERY easily), but no sleep makes me insane.
So is there any other way besides medication to cure insomnia?

In the book and movie "Fight Club", the main character develops a split personality seemingly because of his insomnia. Is this a realistic effect of insomnia? Have there been any documented cases? Please supply documentation, if possible.

What is the best health tool to help sleep apnea?




I know there are tools and machines to treat sleep apnea,,which do you recommend that I can order online that isn’t a discomfort?
Yes.. I;ve heard of apnea monitors but which brand?
I get worried when I hear my father snoring then he doesn’t breathe for 10 seconds then he takes a deep breath in

I get frequent bouts of insomnia, as I’m sure we ALL do, but it gets to the point on many nights (and there have been many for me, believe me) where I can’t fall asleep no matter how hard I try and yet I’m so damn tired. I just lay awake feeling restless. Does anybody know of a good way to help combat insomnia? I could really use the added sleep to boost my energy drive at work.
